Participation in strategy building

In the case of socialised institutions participants, patrons and other users of the institution influence the organisation’s long-term decisions, strategy building, situation analysis, its visions and mission statements, its pyramid of goals and priorities. This may mean real participation where the necessary data and information are available for all, where none of the stakeholders is denied access to the necessary information. This requires a “social contract” among maintainer, institution and stakeholder, where concepts and long-term plans are worked out through trilateral negotiations.
